    padded shield
    Shin foot mma Kicking pads
    Mouthguard
  4. Synthetic Sword(hard rubber/plastic)
    equipment needed:
    rawlings/zenwarrior sword
    purpleheart/blackfencer sword
    hard lacrosse gloves or better(gauntlets preferred)
    Hard elbow and knee protection
    Fencing mask

Example of a practice session

–  HEMA Study Session

  • 5 minute jog/lunge/sidestep/burpee/skipping/high knees
  • 5 minute punch/kick/knee-pair up, use sled shield
  • 5 minute sword work- meier square, paired counters
  • 5 minute Grappling drills-push pulls, foot trips, hiptoss, etc
  • Water break.
  • 20 minutes Review of previous techniques
  • Agility Tabata-windsprints, monkey squats, v balls, pell(speed), bunny hops, lunges, FIT deck plyometrics
  • Water Break
  •  Study new sections of chosen HEMA manual
  • Sparring based on the most recent techniques

–  Buhurt Training

  • 5 minute jog/lunge/sidestep/burpees/skipping/high knees
  • 5 minute punch/kick/knee-pair up, use sled shield, drive partner across room, switch bag repeat
  • 5 minute weapon work-practice weapon, shield, kick strikes
  • 5 minute Strength drills- Various sledgehammer movements-see here
  • 20 minutes of review, introduce new drills
  • Tabata Strength:  windsprints, kettlebell swings, kangaroos, v ups, conan squats, box jumps, grandma toss, turkish getups
